What is Ethereum?

Ethereum is a decentralized, open-source blockchain platform that is designed to support the development and execution of smart contracts and decentralized applications (DApps).

Ethereum was created in 2015 by Vitalik Buterin and other founders, and is the second-largest blockchain platform by market capitalization, after Bitcoin.

Ethereum's native cryptocurrency is Ether (ETH), which is used to pay for transaction fees and other services on the Ethereum network. Ethereum has been widely adopted by developers and organizations looking to build and deploy decentralized applications, and is also used by many NFT marketplaces and platforms.
