The announcement for our Esports Exclusive sale has gone live, and we understand you might have some questions! Please see our extended FAQs below and if there's anything not covered here please don't hesitate to contact us!

What is esports?

Esports, also known as electronic sports, is a form of competitive gaming where players or teams partner and compete against each other! Esports teams have become hugely popular with very recognised brands, and bring with them a whole new audience of fans and followers.

Upon game launch, each esport Hero will be fully playable in-game, with exclusive utilities unique to this collection. But if becoming the proud new owner of a history-defining digital collectible wasn’t enough, holders will have access to a plethora of in-game and out-of-game perks.

You can read more about the perks of owning one here!

What is for sale?

There will be eight esports LEGENDARY Heroes representing each of the esports teams, which will be playable in-game.

Are there any special summons?

Each summon has a chance to be a “special edition” colour variant, with the following probabilities: 10% Warrior, 2% Elite and a 1 of 1 Mythic.

How many NFTs will there be in total?

There will be a supply cap of 16,000 Heroes in total.

Who are the teams?

Cloud9, Fnatic, NAVI, Ninjas in Pyjamas, NRG, SK Gaming, T1, and Team Liquid!

Why is Guild of Guardians partnering with esports teams?

We couldn’t be prouder of this history-defining innovation in the gaming industry, where for the first time ever, a game and collective of esports organisations are working together on a multi-year partnership and in-game IP integration.

How can I get a specific team’s hero?

Each hero you receive from your transaction is completely random so you may not get the exact hero you want. You can consider purchasing that specific team's hero on the secondary market after the sale (if there are any available!).

How can I participate in the esport sale?

You will need to have a web3 wallet, such as MetaMask, set up and connected to the Ethereum network. Your wallet will need to be connected to the IMX marketplace, and the Guild of Guardians website, and to complete any purchases you will need to have ETH funds available on our Layer 2 network.

Once the sale begins, you will be able to view and purchase NFTs on the Guild of Guardians website.

How much will the NFTs cost?

Each Hero will cost approximately $99.00 USD in ETH.

Can the price change?

The USD price of the NFTs is approximate and ETH fluctuations may cause small changes in the price.

What if the NFTs sell out, will you do a second release?

No, these NFTs are limited edition and have a specific supply. We will not be selling these NFTs again in the future, they will only be available for purchase on the secondary marketplace (ie. IMX Marketplace, TreasureTrove, etc.).

What forms of payment are accepted?

The sale will accept Ethereum (ETH) as payment for NFTs, using your connected web3 wallet.

Can I resell my NFTs after I’ve purchased them?

Yes, you will be able to resell your NFTs on the IMX marketplace or other supporting marketplaces that support web3 NFTs.

Where can I view my NFTs?

You can view your NFTs in your web3 wallet and also on the marketplace website where you purchased it from. Once purchased, you will also be able to view and unpack your NFT purchase directly from the Guild of Guardians website once the transaction completes.

Is there a limit to the number of NFTs I can purchase in the sale?

There are no limits to how many Heroes an individual or wallet can purchase! Please note that there is a transaction limit of 400 Heroes per transaction.

How do I ensure the authenticity of an NFT I am purchasing?

The NFTs being sold are verified and authenticated by Guild of Guardians and the IMX marketplace. You can ensure the authenticity by checking the smart contract on the Ethereum blockchain.

What is a smart contract?

A smart contract is a computer program that automatically executes the terms of a contract when certain conditions are met. In the context of NFTs, a smart contract is used to verify the ownership and authenticity of an NFT.

What happens if I lose access to my web3 wallet after I purchase an NFT?

If you lose access to your web3 wallet, you will also lose access to any NFTs stored in that wallet. It is important to ensure that you have a backup of your wallet seed phrase, as Guild of Guardians is unable to recover those for you.

How can I get and/or link a wallet to the website?
What is Layer 1 and Layer 2?

Layer 1 refers to the base layer of the blockchain, which is the Ethereum blockchain. Layer 2 refers to additional services built on top of the basic blockchain. In this case, Immutable X is Layer 2.

Read more information here about the differences between Layer 1 and Layer 2!

Why do my Ether funds need to be on Layer 2 in order to purchase an NFT?

Layer 2 solutions operate independently from the Layer 1 Ethereum blockchain, and therefore require their own set of funds. When buying an NFT, the transaction is done on Layer 2 (using Immutable X). This means that the funds are locked in the smart contract on Layer 2 and the transaction is done without going to the Layer 1 Ethereum blockchain, this reduces the gas fees and confirmation time.

How do I get my funds from Layer 1 to Layer 2?

You can check out our help article here that covers how to transfer funds from L1 to L2 using IMX.
